End User License Agreement (EULA)
Last updated: 27 June 2026
Reelm - Media Center for Windows
Effective Date: 27 June 2026
Version: 1.2
1. Agreement to Terms
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you ("User" or "you") and Revolt.Inc ("Publisher", "we", "us", or "our"), operating from Italy, for the use of the Reelm software application ("App", "Software").
By installing, copying, or otherwise using the Software, you agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, do not install or use the Software.
For installations obtained through the Microsoft Store, the Microsoft Store Terms of Sale also apply.
2. Savings Clause (Mandatory Consumer Rights)
Nothing in this Agreement limits, excludes, or modifies any right or remedy that cannot be limited, excluded, or modified by law. In particular, and notwithstanding any other provision of this Agreement:
- Your mandatory rights as a consumer under the Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs. 206/2005) and applicable EU consumer-protection law remain fully in force.
- Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for wilful misconduct (dolo) or gross negligence (colpa grave), or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
- Where any limitation or exclusion in this Agreement is not permitted by the law applicable to you, that limitation or exclusion applies only to the maximum extent permitted by that law, and the remainder of the Agreement remains in effect.
This Section prevails over any conflicting provision elsewhere in this Agreement.
3. License Grant
3.1 Free Application
Reelm is provided free of charge. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Reelm on any number of Windows devices that you own or control, for personal, non-commercial use.
This version of Reelm contains no advertising and no paid or premium features.
3.2 Scope and Restrictions
This license does not grant you any rights to:
- Sublicense, sell, rent, lease, or distribute the Software as your own product
- Use the Software for unlawful purposes
- Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices, labels, or marks
Nothing in this Section restricts rights granted to you under the open-source licenses of the third-party components included in the Software (see Section 5), including, where applicable, your rights to use, modify, and obtain the source code of those components.
3.3 Eligibility and Age
Reelm carries an all-ages content rating (IARC 3+; for example PEGI 3, ESRB Everyone, USK 0) and contains no age-restricted content of its own. Reelm does not require an account and is not directed to children. Because Reelm plays media that you provide or look up, you are solely responsible for ensuring that such media is appropriate and lawful for you and for anyone you allow to use it. If you are below the age of majority in your country, you may use Reelm only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, to the extent required by applicable law. See Section 10 of the Privacy Policy for how children's data is handled.
4. Description of the Software
Reelm is a media center application for Windows that allows you to:
- Organize and browse your personal video library (movies and series)
- Retrieve metadata and artwork from The Movie Database (TMDB)
- Play video files using the bundled MPV player (run as a separate process)
- Manage playlists, watch history, and locally stored (sidecar) subtitles
- Access video files stored locally or on network shares (SMB)
The Software does not provide, host, stream, index, or distribute any media content. It is a tool for organizing and playing media files that you already lawfully possess. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the legal right to access and play any media files in your library and to obtain metadata for them.
5. Third-Party and Open Source Components
The Software incorporates open source and third-party components. A complete list of these components and their respective licenses is provided in the in-app "Open Source Licenses" screen (Settings > About > Open Source Licenses) and in the accompanying Third-Party Notices.
5.1 MPV Player (GPLv2, bundled)
The Software bundles MPV (https://mpv.io) as its media player. The MPV build distributed with Reelm is licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later (GPLv2+). MPV is included inside the application package and runs as a separate process, communicating with Reelm via inter-process communication (named pipes); it is not statically combined with the Reelm application code.
In accordance with the GPL, the corresponding source code for the bundled MPV build (and the relevant build scripts) is made available at: https://mediaboxmc.com/oss/mpv/20260610-304426c/
You have the right to use, study, modify, and redistribute MPV under the terms of the GPL. The MPV trademark and project are the property of the MPV project.
5.2 TMDB Metadata
The Software retrieves metadata from The Movie Database (TMDB). This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. "TMDB" and the TMDB logo are trademarks of The Movie Database. See our Privacy Policy for details of data handling.
6. Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
You agree that you will not use the Software to:
- Access, store, organize, play, or distribute content that you do not have the lawful right to access, including content that infringes copyright or other rights of third parties
- Circumvent, disable, or interfere with any technological protection measure, access control, or digital rights management on any content
- Violate any applicable law or regulation, including those concerning copyright, data protection, or computer misuse
- Abuse, overload, probe, or attempt to circumvent or extract credentials from our metadata service or other backend services, or use them other than through the App's normal functionality
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the proprietary Reelm application code, except to the extent such restriction is prohibited by applicable law or expressly permitted by the license of an included open-source component
You are solely responsible for the media files, sources, library paths, and network locations you choose to add to and use within the Software, and for ensuring your use complies with applicable law.
7. Data, Privacy, and Network Connections
7.1 Local Data
All user data (library information, watch history, preferences, and configurations) is stored exclusively on your local device in the application's data folder. We do not have access to this data. Application logs are kept locally and are never uploaded.
7.2 No Telemetry, No Advertising
The Software contains no advertising and no usage analytics or crash-telemetry. No usage data, advertising identifiers, or behavioural metrics are collected or transmitted.
7.3 Network Connections
The Software connects to the internet to retrieve movie and series metadata from The Movie Database (TMDB), performs basic connectivity checks (msftconnecttest.com), and contacts reelm.rvsg.net to check for updates and retrieve legal documents. For details of how data is handled, see the Privacy Policy.
7.4 Full Details
For complete information about data handling, please refer to our Privacy Policy available at https://reelm.rvsg.net/app/privacy and within the App under Settings > About > Privacy Policy.
8. Optional Logon Reminder (Startup Task)
The Software can optionally remind you at Windows logon. This feature is opt-in and disabled by default. When enabled, it registers a Windows StartupTask so the reminder can run at logon. It transmits no data, can be disabled at any time in Settings, and is automatically removed when you uninstall the Software.
9. Intellectual Property
The Reelm application (excluding the third-party and open-source components covered by their own licenses), including its design, code, graphics, and logos, is the intellectual property of Revolt.Inc and is protected by copyright laws and international treaties.
All trademarks, service marks, and trade names used in the Software are the property of their respective owners.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AND SUBJECT TO SECTION 2 (SAVINGS CLAUSE), THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
Nothing in this Section affects the statutory warranties and legal guarantees of conformity to which you are entitled as a consumer, which remain fully in force. Because the Software is provided free of charge, our obligations and liability are those that apply by law to software supplied without payment.
We do not warrant that the Software will meet your requirements, be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any errors will be corrected.
11. Limitation of Liability
Subject to Section 2 (Savings Clause), and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Software, third-party content or services accessed through it, or your choice of media files or sources.
- Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for wilful misconduct (dolo) or gross negligence (colpa grave), for fraud, or for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
This limitation does not affect mandatory consumer-protection rights under applicable law, including the Italian Consumer Code (D.Lgs. 206/2005) and EU consumer-protection directives.
12. User Responsibilities and Indemnity
You are solely responsible for:
- Ensuring you have the legal right to access and play media files in your library
- Complying with all applicable laws regarding the content you access, organize, or play through the Software
- Maintaining backups of your data
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to hold us harmless from third-party claims arising directly from your own unlawful use of the Software or your breach of the Acceptable Use Policy (Section 6). This obligation is limited to claims caused by your own conduct, does not apply to matters for which we are responsible, and does not extend beyond what is proportionate and permitted by law. It does not apply to you to the extent prohibited by mandatory consumer-protection law.
13. Takedown and Abuse Reports
Reelm does not host content. If you believe that the Software, our website, or our backend services are being used in a way that infringes your rights, or you wish to report abuse, contact us at [email protected]. We will review properly substantiated notices and take appropriate action, which may include restricting access to the affected services.
14. Updates and Modifications
14.1 Software Updates
We may release updates to the Software from time to time, delivered automatically through the Microsoft Store or manually through our website.
14.2 Modifications to this Agreement
We may modify this Agreement. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Software after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Agreement. If you do not agree to the modified terms, you must stop using the Software.
15. Termination
15.1 By You
You may terminate this Agreement at any time by uninstalling the Software and deleting all copies.
15.2 By Us
We may terminate or suspend this Agreement if you materially breach its terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the Reelm application and delete all copies (your rights under the open-source licenses of included components are unaffected).
15.3 Survival
Sections 2 (Savings Clause), 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimer), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (User Responsibilities and Indemnity), and 17 (Governing Law) shall survive termination.
16. Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that this Agreement shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
17. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
For EU consumers: Nothing in this Agreement deprives you of the protection afforded by the mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. You may bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence, and mandatory consumer-protection rules of that country continue to apply.
18. Entire Agreement
This Agreement, together with the Privacy Policy and the Open Source Licenses / Third-Party Notices, constitutes the entire agreement between you and Revolt.Inc regarding the Software and supersedes all prior agreements and understandings on its subject matter.
